Summary

A recent report authored by maternal and newborn health experts at the University of California at San Francisco analyzes the relational aspects of the Networks of Care (NOC) framework for Maternal and Newborn Health (MNH), as these components distinguish NOCs from other frameworks aimed at strengthening health systems and enhancing the quality of care. Understanding these elements is crucial for developing practical tools that countries, still grappling with the optimal service delivery model for improving maternal and newborn health, can use to implement an NOC approach, including both structural and relational elements. The report is supported by USAID’s Global Health Bureau through the HEARD Project.
